Imagine the back of a large, wet high heel walking across the floor, splashing onto another wall, running on the floor, under the couch and to the stage area.
That's what this series in my paper sculpture installations represented for this themed group exhibition.
The rules are no folds or creases. The paper is held up by thumb tacks and proportional gravity created from the paper positioning.
The submerged visual effect comes from the ribbons, waves and splashes of color against large areas of wall space or within a confined space.
Creating the "Vertical Pool" where the participants within the space are standing within a pool of flowing shapes and color.
The Four Phases
1) Pink & Bleach Large Sheets of Pink construction paper
2) Multi-colored sheets of paper
3) Rolls of Pink Kraft Butcher Paper stretched across the room, framing the other works in the exhibition.
4) Self-contained small room along with Jame P.s painted tubes suspended by wire.
There were a total of 8 different exhibitions in 6 locations in 2 different cities from 2001 until 2010.
Explosion at the Greenwich was the conclusion to this series. I started to become concerned about the paper waste from each of these shows and I stopped the practice. I had thought about shredding it up and turning the pulp into many multi colored sculptures, but that idea never fully manifested itself over time.

OPENING NIGHT VIDEOS
These videos are from opening night showing the people walking over the paper, transforming the paper through time and movement.
Some people even had their own spontaneous moments of creativity
within the space.
Along with displaying our work, Stephanie Disla and I also performed a set of improv experimental music alongside Keith Rudolf.
I ended up wanting to play music more than talk about my Art since I was not displaying anything for sale.
drewkidd - Sound mixes from a laptop
processed through a hand effects unit.
Stephanie Disla - Exploring dimensions and Sacred Geometry via sound.
Keith Rudolf - Attic-Dirge-Scuzz, metallic soundscapes.
